Farmborough Seedy Saturday

Saturday 10 March 10am to 2pm
By Get Seedy!

Now in its third year, Seedy Saturday is set to get bigger and more 'spudtacular' at Farmborough Memorial Hall on Saturday 10 March 2012 from 10am to 2pm, with 80 plus varieties of potato available to buy individually alongside the increasingly popular seed swap. Come along, swap some seeds and find out something new about gardening, growing produce and living more sustainably through recycling, composting and sharing community resources. Also browse heritage and organic seeds, potatoes, onions, shallots and garlic for sale from local merchants 'Pennard Plants', 'The Herbary', and 'Thomas Etty Esq.', purchase locally made preserves and crafts, home grown produce and plants, and enjoy homemade refreshments and home-grown entertainment! What's happening? •community seed swap all day - for exchanging home-saved and unwanted seeds (or make a small donation if no seeds to swap) •stalls selling potatoes, onions, shallots, garlic, heritage and organic seeds, plants, preserves, crafts and local produce •local growers giving practical advice on gardening, and growing your own, plus tips on composting and water conservation •information from local community groups about gardening, horticulture, beekeeping and sustainable lifestyles and communities •entertainment from Priston Jubilee Morris and Somerset Morris •café selling fair trade tea and coffee, soft drinks, bacon rolls, soup and homemade cake Ticket prices: Adults £1 (on the door), children under 16 free.
